Meet your teachers

Tatiana Avila-Bouru – Lead Trainer

I was born in Cannes, France.

My understanding of working with the physical body began at an early age. At the age of 7 years old, I was already competing all over France during rhythmic gymnastics competitions. A dance career then opened up. It began in France, specializing in ballet, and brought me to New York City.

I spent 2 years at the world-renowned Merce Cunningham dance school. The hectic and demanding world of dance pushed me to turn to vinyasa yoga classes, as a way to relieve the pressure.

After putting myself under intense daily practices with some of NYC best known teachers, I participated, in 2012, to the 200 RYT training at Sonic Yoga, in Hell’s Kitchen NYC and start to teach in NYC. That same year, I moved to Paris where my teaching path really began. I am now teaching in a lot of studios in Paris and representing brands, I was the first Lululemon ambassador in France. Since 2012 I never stopped taking training from Laughing Lotus NYC to Brionhy Smith and Dice Klein 300 hours teacher training I try to take one training per year ! Since 2017 I am also leading a 200 hours yoga teacher training.

Alexander Marvin Avila – Senior Teacher

Hey guys so here’s little background to get the low down on me I was  born and raised  in Queens New York City  I was introduced to yoga by non other my now life partner Tatiana who you already know if your practice with us, yoga for me was at first a means to workout but soon became more than just plank and down dog.

After moving to Paris in 2012 and undecided on my future I decided to pursue a culinary career  but decided that wasn’t for me soon after so embarked on a yogi journey that began with my first teacher training in  India with jivamukti yoga in 2015.

Since then I have taught and still teach full time in Paris and nationally in France I’ve trained with world renowned teachers like Briohny Smyth  , Dice Lida Klein , Dana Trixie flyn, and other great schools of yoga like laughing lotus and jivamukti yoga, for the last couple of years I’ve also taught hands on adjustments and Asana alignment  to the Earth to fly 200hrs teacher training founded by Tatiana Avila Bouru and Gemma Vassallo in Paris.

My teaching is strongly influenced by my past teachers  but I’ve also developed my own method of teaching Asana by mixing mobility in conjunction with flexibility, core strength, creative sequencing, passive and active muscle drills all blended into a intelligently organized vinyasa. I can’t wait to share more with you and my way of teaching in these videos see you on the mat dear yogis and friends.

Matthew Huy – Yoga Anatomy Teacher

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Matthew Huy is a Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals, having taught for more than 13 years. With a BA in Dance and certifications as a yoga and Pilates teacher, he leads the anatomy component on many teacher training programs, both in London and abroad. Through his many years of dance training, he also studied and explored Contact Improvisation, Body-Mind Centering, Laban Movement Analysis and Bartenieff Fundamentals. Today, he enjoys learning about the latest research on fascia, pain science and the physiology behind yoga. He has learned from a wide array of anatomy teachers, including Andrew McGonigle (Doctor Yogi), who has acted as a mentor to him and with whom he still collaborates.

In his teaching of anatomy, Matt aims to provide the student with a broad framework for understanding the body so that students can have their own insights. With a focus on the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, he always ties the information back to yoga. He is known for his light-hearted and engaging approach to presenting complex anatomical concepts.

Neville Cregan (yoga history/philosophy teacher)

Neville has been teaching Yoga since 1997 after originally training in London with Mary Stewart, Peter Blackaby and later Dona Holleman. He has explored a wide variety of practices and approaches in Yoga ranging from the slower practices of his early to teachers who were taught and influenced by Vanda Scaravelli, through to a more recent interest in Vinyasa Flow practices inspired by teachers in Chiang Mai Thailand where he has been often to study Thai massage.

His original contact with Yoga was through a visit to India and then a Humanities degree that focused on Indian philosophy . After initially finding it difficult to relate Yoga practices to the philosophy he studied at university, he started to explore meditation in depth which is when Yoga philosophy, theory and practice started to make sense as coherent and connected whole. Since 2004 he has taught Yoga history and philosophy for Yoga Teacher Training courses in London , Devon and Sussex , UK, and now with Alex and Tatiana in Paris.
